A Separation whether it be mild or placing you under the hammer can cause you to feel sick and all forms of stress; with anger, anxiety and withdrawal just to name a few.
Whilst you can channel some of this emotion positively if you're in the right environment and around the right people, what do you do if you are not?
Well, as Jack Kornfield psychologist and meditation teacher pronounces, the first step is to breathe — as breathing makes space. It's a simple but extremely powerful strategy and one that won't cost you a penny.
By concentrating on your breath, feeling it and your body, listening to it go in and out, varying the frequency and depth, you are focusing inward and restoring balance internally. You can slow your mind from busy thoughts and calm your body down to a more restful condition.
No matter what is happening it can never be that bad that you cannot breathe and wait a few minutes. In just a short while, you will think more clearly and your body will have been released from an unhealthy state of stress.
Learning to breathe in moments of stress, discomfort and under duress can take some practice however it's well worth the effort. Breathing exercises have enormous physical and psychological benefits and can be a subject all on its own, being well known in art forms such as yoga, tai chi and meditation.
Breathing is a powerful key in unlocking the many secrets that lay within you. Further stress and suffering can be reduced by detaching from outcome and things outside of yourself.
Decide to breathe with greater awareness today.
With love, kindness and peace
Michael
