So, what do you really want? Maybe look in the magic window on your left to get a glimpse of what you think you really want.
As with the practices of the Buddha and many other masters who pave the way for those of us merry souls who seek enlightenment, it can be a rewarding path to transcend your ego and the many wants of the self.
Being in a state of perpetual wanting can almost be likened to that of a jail sentence having your freedom banished forever, unless you learn the fundamental law of serving others as opposed to just wanting things for yourself. After all, being concerned with that of giving to others is a far more enjoyable ride than that of being focused on what you can get or take.
Admittedly, it may not be easy at first to give up wanting as it is a very powerful force, however if you can, it may just put an end to some tremendous suffering, and with continual practice it can also lead you to a place of great liberation..
As Jack Kornfield, psychologist, Buddhist monk and author once stated
"You know what happens when you get what you want don't you, you want something else, because wanting is endless."
Inner fulfillment will never truly be achieved by giving to yourself, wanting this and that. You may think you're gaining, however you will never be truly satisfied as it is an insatiable hunger that will consume you, not the other way round. One day, you may just wake up wondering where your life went and the real worthiness of it.
By changing your paradigm to connect internally with God, source or that place of infinite energy strength and wisdom, you can redirect your flow outwardly to people so they will never want either. With faith that you will be provided for by others there need never be any fear, worry or doubt ever again.
Perhaps the only true desire you ever really need is the clarity of a righteous purpose that truly serves others, through proper use of all those godly gifts you have been so kindly blessed with.
To get what you really want, staring in the magic window repeatedly for 30 days picturing what you specifically desire may just do the trick.
With love, kindness and peace
Michael
